Host your own community football day

Would your club like to host a fun football festival showcasing the best of the local grassroots game, whilst boosting participation and recruiting new volunteers while you’re at it?

If the answer to all of that is ‘yes’, then get your club signed up for a community football day.

Each of the UK’s four national football associations – and their official community partner McDonald’s – are on the lookout for accredited grassroots football clubs to deliver their very own community football day this summer.

Now firmly part of the grassroots calendar every summer, community football days feature activities for all of the family, whilst providing opportunities for young players new to the game or those who already play, regardless of their ability or experience.

Hosting an event can also help grow your club. The FA report a 52% increase in new players and a 47% increase in volunteers at those clubs who hosted a community football day in 2016.

Featuring skills sessions, games, activities and refreshments for everyone in attendance, community football days provide a day of fun with football at its core and a great opportunity to boost participation at your club and in the local area.

Applications are open now to accredited clubs and events must take place between 20 May – 1 October 2017, inclusive.
