Women looking to get involved in football at any level have received a boost from one of the country’s leading small-sided football providers.

Powerleague has launched three exciting new initiatives designed to encourage women of all ages and abilities to get involved in football. Whether you want to play competitively or have fun with a social kickabout, there’s something on offer for everyone.

For teams keen to test themselves, a new Women’s European League provides two competitive games per night in the first ever small-sided pan-European competition, with the champions heading to the Euros in The Netherlands next summer.

For those wanting to have a fun kickabout, there’s a free hour of football available every day of the week at off-peak times. Women of all ages and ability levels are welcome.

Finally, for those wanting to keep fit whilst getting an introduction to football, there are weekly hour-long Soccercise sessions to help you build your ball skills. Classes are held at the same time every week and can be tailored to all levels of fitness.

“We are delighted that Powerleague are offering new programmes to try and increase the opportunities for females to play football,” said Rachel Pavlou, FA Women’s Football Participation Manager.

“The FA wants to fundamentally increase the number of women playing the game and these initiatives from Powerleague will be a huge help as we aim to achieve this.”
