Turriff set for biggest game in club's history

Turriff United v Morton, Scottish Cup Fourth Round. Sat 1 December, 3pm, The Haughs

Turriff United are set to make history this afternoon as they host Greenock Morton in the fourth round of the Scottish Cup.

The Highland League side have not faced a team from the Scottish Football League in their 58-year history, but today they take on high-flying Morton, who currently stand fourth in the First Division.

The Aberdeenshire club - whose website is powered by Club Website - currently lie fourteenth in the Highland League.

But it is their cup run that has been thrilling fans, who will head to The Haughs dreaming of a major cup upset.

The club have sought advice from the police, the Scottish FA and sporting event specialists as they prepare for the biggest game to be staged at their 2,135-capacity home.

A Gary Harris strike was enough to overcome fellow Highland League side Buckie Thistle in the third round last month to setup today's historic clash.

Best of luck to Turriff United from everyone here at Club Website.
