Futsal makes perfect Sense for deafblind charity

The national deafblind charity Sense are looking for teams to take part in their first Futsal Challenge Cup, taking place in Birmingham this May.

The tournament gives you and your mates the chance to take on other teams in this technical and pacey variation of the beautiful game whilst raising funds for deafblind people while you’re at it.

Futsal is played on a hard court surface with a smaller ball that emphasizes improvisation, creativity and technique as well as ball control and quick thinking whilst passing in small spaces.

The event takes place at the Futsal Arena in Birmingham’s Jewellery Quarter on FA Cup Final Day (Saturday 12 May) and kicks off at midday.

The tournament operates in a ‘Champions League’ style format with the option to take part in blind football coaching for those knocked out in the early stages.

All games will be done and dusted in time for the Wembley kick-off, giving all players the chance to watch the Cup Final on big screens in the venue’s licensed bar.

Teams of seven pay £5 per player to register with a minimum sponsorship target of £100 per team.

If you have a team you would like to enter or know of players looking for a new challenge please call Sense on 0121 415 6732 or email [email protected] for more information.

If Futsal is not for you, please alert anyone you know who might be interested in taking up this new challenge as the more teams that enter, the more funds Sense can raise for deafblind people.
